``World Turtle Day``

The Institute of Oceanography and Environmental  and the Center of Industry & Community Service  Universiti Malaysia Terengganu  in collaboration with WWF (Malaysia) will organize the "World Turtle Day ' on June 16, 2012. at the Bazaar Heritage, Kuala Terengganu. This is the first time this program is being organized in the State and it aims to raise awareness among local communities about the need to protect the turtles, especially among those who sell and eat turtle eggs.  It is Themed 'eggs: Buy Do not Eat. This awareness campaign hopes people will stop buying or eating turtle eggs to prevent extinction of endangered animals.
