MANILA, June 22 (Bernama) -- Foreigners who want to participate in a local marathon in northern Philippines which will start on July 1 would need to have a working visa, China's Xinhua news agency said.
Local newspaper Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that organisers of the Milo Marathon revised its rules for the 36th edition of the footrace.
A new category has been added to the National Finals where only Filipinos may win. Foreigners who wish to participate in the race may only compete in the 42k Manila elimination.
Runners who want to qualify to the finals must show proof of finish in races accredited by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races or International Association of Athletic Federations one year before the Milo race.
The Milo Marathon will kick off in Baguio City and will also be staged in other cities all over the Philippines.
