The Malays have been reminded that the Umno constitution already has principles of the 1Malaysia Concept. Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim says under Clause 3 (6) of the constitution, the need for close relations and cooperation between the races was clearly stated. Speaking after opening the Tanjong Karang Umno division meeting, Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais, who is also a member of the Umno Supreme Council, called on party members to be courageous in voicing their views based on concrete facts. He said the interests of all races meant that Malaysians of all ethnic groups could live harmoniously in line with the vision and mission of the 1Malaysia Concept.
