Date : 5 Jul 2010       Time : 0900 MST

Institutions of higher learning (IPT) should provide the names of first class honours students so that the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans can be converted to scholarships. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said according to PTPTN about 2,000 students qualified for scholarships worth RM73 million. Speaking when launching Universiti Malaysia Pahang Induction Week 2010 in Kuantan, He said, as of June 24, only 1,200 first class honours students from 18 IPT had applied for scholarships worth RM26 million.
