KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Come November, a maiden forum on the implementation of the operational and language proficiency of the aviation industry will be held here.
It will be the first time that the forum, organised by the International Civil Aviation English Association (ICAEA) and hosted by the Gulf Golden International Flying Academy (GGIFA), would be held outside Europe.
It will discuss mostly, the usage of language as the medium of communication between the pilot and control tower.
GGIFA Aviation English Test Centre manager Abdul Wahab Abdul Rahman told Bernama here Thursday, that language proficiency played an important role in the aviation industry.
He said an accident could occur if there was misunderstanding between the pilot and control tower.
Abdul Wahab said, one of the topics to be discussed at the forum was making it compulsory for pilots to pass the aviation English test before being allowed to renew their civil aviation licences.
The two-day forum which begins on Nov 23, will be held at the Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel.
For registration and enquiries, the public can access the ICAEA website at www.icaea.pansa.pl and the GGIFA website at www.ggifa.edu.my.
